What we cut, when we box
The bench calendar
When greens are cut. After the first hard frost, when the balsam seals its needle against the cold. Cutting earlier dries the greens; cutting later risks the calendar.
When boxes leave. The same week a wreath leaves the bench. Thanksgiving week for early doors; the weeks of December 1 and December 8 for Advent.
Thanksgiving vs. Advent. Thanksgiving week is for doors that want greens through the whole season. Advent weeks are for doors that want the freshest face for Christmas.
